Faith Community Hospital Becomes One Of The Nation's First Hospitals To Achieve Stage 2 Meaningful Use
RazorInsights’ ONE-Electronic Health Record helped the acute care hospital reach milestone within 90 days
RazorInsights, a leading provider of health IT solutions for rural, critical access and community hospitals, announced recently that Jacksboro, Texas-based Faith Community Hospital, a ONE-Electronic Health Record customer, is one of the nation’s first hospitals to achieved Stage 2 meaningful use. According to CMS data collected to Nov. 1, 2014, just 17 percent of hospitals have successfully attested to Stage 2 meaningful use. Faith Community selected RazorInsights in late June and implemented the company’s ONE-Electronic Health Record solution before the July 1 meaningful use deadline.
2014 marked the first year that eligible professionals, hospitals and critical access hospitals (CAHs) were able to participate in Stage 2 of the Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Program, which was passed back in 2009. According to CMS.gov, in order for providers to demonstrate Stage 2 meaningful use, they must have already successfully demonstrated Stage 1 and are required meet certain core and menu objectives during a 90-day reporting period.
To ensure that Faith Community was able to meet the required 16 core objectives and three menu objectives, the hospital utilized RazorInsights’ Meaningful Use Dashboard, a scorecard within its ONE-EHR. Objectives included using computerized provider order entry (CPOE) for medication, laboratory and radiology orders, incorporating clinical lab-test results into Certified EHR Technology, providing clinical summaries for patients for each office visit and more.
“Successfully demonstrating meaningful use can be a complex process for hospitals, especially when using a new EHR system, so it’s our mission to make the process as seamless as possible,” said Michael McKenzie, co-founder and chief operating officer of RazorInsights. “Throughout the entire reporting period we worked closely with Faith Community and notified them of alerts in theirMeaningful Use Dashboard to ensure their score card was ready to attest by the deadline.”
As a healthIT provider that focuses solely on rural, community and critical access hospitals, RazorInsights ONE-EHR’s platform simplifies the meaningful use achievement process and is easy to use and comprehend, allowing physicians to solely focus on providing the best patient care possible.
“At Faith Community our patients have always been our top priority. Therefore, when deciding on an EHR vendor to help us achieve Stage 2, we were focused on finding one that would not only help our daily workflow, but also allow us to grow as a hospital and as a community,” said Frank Beaman, CEO of Faith Community Hospital. “Ultimately, RazorInsights was the only company willing to put in writing that they would help us achieve Stage 2 meaningful use in 90 days – and they did just that.”
